Hello everyone. I'm trying to swap my 89 Bronco II base steering column out for a tilting cruise wheel from my parts 94 explorer. The explorer column is unfortunately so rotten that it is unusable. Does anyone have a writeup on how to swap just the tilting part of a column over? Would adapting the explorer column from rag joint to the bronco II u-joint cause issues? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Just wanted to update this thread for future reference. Its a super easy swap!

There are three bolts that clamp the aluminum housing to the column, If you undo that and the key switch you can just yank the whole wheel out of the column. The collapsing part is just friction fit and slides apart (I did this on the bench) letting you drop the other column right in.

Thanks for the update, it might help someone else later!
