steering wheel with radio controls

Hi,
I have a 2002 Ranger, 4 door, 2 wheel drive. I would like to trick it out a little. I was thinking about putting in a steering wheel with the radio controls on it, like from an Explorer. I have tilt and cruise on it now, factory. Has anybody done this? Can you just replace the steering wheel and clockspring, then patch in the wiring to the radio. I have a factory dual media radio from a 2000 Explorer now, that has the hook up for steering controls. I was also wondering if it's possable to switch the heater controls, to the EATC unit from an Explorer. Any thoughts or info on this would be appreciated.

sounds like it would be easiest to just an oe explorer steering wheel and make it fit on your truck that way, you can have the cruise controls and the radio controls. i dont think it would be that hard to make it work.

I would guess with the Explorer it is run through one wiring harness (like my Mazda6) and you would have to figure out which wire in the harness is for the radio controls.
