Steering Wheel Rubber is Breaking Down - Nice Option for a Steering Wheel Cover?

I have a 2011 Ranger w/ 200k miles and the outer thin coating of harder rubber on the steering wheel has worn away at the top at around the '10 & 2" positions. And has exposed the softer rubber beneath and that rubber is flaking off as tiny granules.

Ideally, a steering wheel replacement would be best. What is entailed in doing that if I could find a decent steering wheel? What are the difficulties in a remove & replace? Are aftermarket steering wheels available?

Or perhaps easier route, anyone have any good recommendations for a decent way to cover the steering wheel that doesn't look tacky? I looked at some in an Advance Auto store, and they just looked tacky, I wasn't impressed at all.

What do you have that you would recommenced? Be nice to find something that wasn't so thick, and looked more "original-like".

Replacement steering wheels are uncommon because of the airbag.

I'd get one of these stitch on covers myself.

A real leather wrap doesn't look too bad.

I did a parts store leather wrap on one of my older trucks to fix the same problem; the original steering wheel having some loose and missing chunks. It fixed it to my satisfaction.

About 25 bucks for a good leather one; takes a little time and a lot of patience.
