Steering knuckle

I need to replace a steering knuckle on a 98 ford ranger xlt two wheel drive 2.5 litter engine. I would like to ask if anyone can help me. I would like to know what other years I can look for in the junk yard since this part for this year is no longer available at part stores.

For a 2wd I would think that any 98+ non-Edge 2wd knuckle should work.

from 1998 until end of production 2011 the 2wd knuckles are all the same. (well L vs R )

be sure to match style of front springs, most are coil spring, a few were torsion bars ( Edge models). the knuckles look similar between the 2, but are not interchangeable.

if you search for used parts on car-part.com they list other years too.


it is quite difficult to damage a steering knuckle, what's wrong with yours?

My wheel bearings completely broke down on a trip. I tried to get home and the tire almost fell off. The spindle wich is attached to the knuckle. The thread is damaged

I drove with bad wheel bearings ro the point the tire almost fell off and the thread on the spindle wich is attached to the knuckle was damaged

knuckles are fairly easy to replace, if you like smacking ball joints with hammers.
