Looked up the rebuild... eh.. no thanks! The out shaft bearing on bottom where the pitman arm is attached is loose.. about 1/8" A rebuilt box isn't terribly expensive. Would one from a yard be worth chasing down?

check for a lower bushing/seal repair kit
 
Going to wait on this repair. Thanks. but I don't see us or me taking the thing out unless it's to replace it.

its been a long time since I replaced one of those lower seal/bushing. the last was on a 77 F150 which I did with the steering gear box still mounted in the truck. pulling the pitman arm off was not easy.

hint, DO NOT diss-assemble a steering gear box
