i am thinking of something a little different for the Ranger.
Instead of using Aluminum Wheels as most do I was thinking of a black steel standard rim with baby moons.
Something like these, 16x8 w/ 3.875 BS, black powder coating, s/s moon; http://www.stocktonwheel.com/pdf/PAGE2.pdf

I know I am going to get flax for this but please let me know what you think.

I have seen them done a time or two and I liked them. One truck was actually 50's pink and white with those and it looked great. To each his own though, if you like them go for it, want a better vision - post a request in the Photoshop Forum here and we can put them on there for you . . .

what year ranger u puttin em on? i think they would look good on an older ranger, not so much on a newer style.

My 2003, just thinking here; that is why I am asking.

Not sure where to go, aluminum wheels are expensive and the ones I want do not come in the correct BS for the lift I want.

The steel wheels can be purchased with any BS you want, just about.

I have the chrome baby moons on my truck. I got them years ago and have had a lot of positive comments on them. I don't put the centers on any more though, I have a really hard time with them and getting them off was even harder for me for some reason.

I always wanted a set of them in 17" but the cost is too high. Always liked the classic look.

I saw a Ranger some time ago that had original Magnum 500's on it. Looked SWEET.

I like the idea. I was thinking of it myself as the Aluminum 10 hole ones on my 92 are pitted and the center caps are peeling. Quite ugly.

it would look nice ina lowrider i think not sure in a 4x4 what color is your truck??

do like my truck. cragar s/s rims baby. quite affordable rims too

ya 17" costs way too much for a steel wheel for sure. Unfortunately 17" is the smallest I'll be able to run after I get my brakes done.

I personally like the look of them. Have seen them on a few Rangers and they do look good.

That was the first set of rims I had on my truck. 15x8;s with a reverse offset in the rear. They stuck out like a mother back there. The truck did look pretty cool though, lots of comments on those rims. I always thought of getting the newer SS's in all aluminum but they are not cheap for 17+.

Zman, what are you doing brake wise?

James

I plane to go with Cragar 313 Series Chrome Smoothies and there prices are more reasonable. Also Wheel Vintiques has a large selection of similar wheels.

OK, thanks to all for the info and the ideas.

I have just changed my mind again because I found some Slotted Aluminum wheels, kind of like the 60's Ansens; I really like the Baby Moon idea but these are Slots.

The price is $166/ea delivered w/ Caps.

Again, Thanks,
