Stator overheating?

Hi fellas.

My 2.9 has some issues. After the dealership replaced the second TFI module, I felt the back of the distributor casting where the TFI plugs into the stator and it was VERY hot to the touch. The casing of the TFI was only warm (normal) but the casting where the module mounts to was blazing hot. I spoke with the lead mechanic at the dealership, and he was lost as to what it was.

There is also the issue of the wiring leading to the fuel impact cut-off switch under the pass side floorboard, it gets pretty hot under there as well. Just put in a new motor, but original wiring and computer.

Any help here?

Thank you in response.

inspect your wiring to the fuel pumps for shorts and/or bad connections. The distributor shaft is aluminum and attached to the engine, its gonna get hot, no way around that.
