can anyone help me?my truck takes a hwile too start i haveto cank it it for a little stop and then crank it agina and sometimes even a third time before it starts.does anyone know why it takes so long to start?

Most times that is fuel bleeding back into the tank when the engine is turned off.. Try this.. turn the key to the "RUN" position for a 5 count before turning it to the "START" position.. If this works the problem is bleed back..

I'd "prime" it several times as Big Jim described, THEN crank it.

If that works, you need a new fuel pump (that's where the failed check-valve is located).

Another thought is to replace the fuel filter. Its fittings may be leaking (and would be wet).
