Well, my first legal job :yahoo:

Minimum wage from 10am to 11pm, tuesday-saturday.

I work at Tony's Pizzaria in Wellsboro, PA, making pizzas and doing dishes, and I was hired on the spot.

Im excited! I plan to have a vehicle by the end of next Sunday (22nd), after the bronco is sold to a TRS member, and I get my paychecks.

Wish me luck!!!

5 days 10 am to 11:00? That is not really great work hours!! You don't have time to do anyting!! You getting overtime I hope? Darn!! That's a hard first job, Bro.

Holy, those are some intense hours. I'm 20 and I get tired out working 8-5 Mon to Fri at the Ford Dealer I'm at. But we parts guys get great stories to tell. :D

Im used to long hours, always have been, and I technically get 3-5 off, but I can decide to work those hours if I choose too, which I might as well. And the payoff will be worth it =).

I just went there at 6:50am to get trained and NOBODY was there, and Im calling every 15-30 minutes to check in, because I want to know what happened.

Yes, by law, you are required to get overtime after 40 hours of work

Good Luck on being an "official taste sampler" of all the food-

I worked for my brother for about a year doing deliveries on weekends at his pizza place. I was there for about 10 hours a day plus an hour each way driving...it's not that bad because you're busy all the time...

It will probably take you a week or two to adjust to the hours and to get to know the rush hours...if the guy training you is any good and you stay alert you will have it down in a couple of days...

I used to enjoy the prep work (measuring dough, preparing the veggies etc) but much of his stuff was commissary...meaning it was pre packaged by the head office...but it kept me busy when there were no deliveries...

Take the initiative whenever you can...and enjoy...it can be rewarding work when you see the smiles on all the hungry customers...and repeat business means you're doing something right...

Hmmm, nobody was there at that time? Sounds fishy to me.

Good job on the job.
Remember some industries don't adhere to the 40+ is ot "law".
Some industries are 56 hours.

Work the long hours now so that maybe you can retire comfortably and before you're 65.

8-5 Mon -Fri in the parts dept? Oh give me a job like that, with the pay I get now . . .

Wow, it seems like it was yesterday that I entered the workforce. Coincidentally, today is my 17th anniversary at my employer. That is very rare in today's world!

I could never work those hours haha I get tired working the five a day that I do, although I am trying to get a second job so I can have more money for the truck

Im not being trained really, I just wash dishes and help out lol, today was a relatively easy and slow day, so I cant wait for it to pickup tomorrow.

It was a lot of fun and everyone there is extremely kind anf funny, my boss is a rallycar driver and the pizzaria owns a rally car thats raced regularly, even the crew chief works with us. Most of the guys there are motorheads haha.

Great day =) sore feet

Congrats...mo' hours....equals....mo' truck stuff!!!!

I did the restaurant job thing back in my youth. I did a lot of other jobs, too. It took all of my time from right after school to midnight to pay for the car I could barely drive because I was always at work. And I grew up to be an idiot because I never had time for school because I was always working so I could drive a car.
