Hey TRS. First time poster long time reader.
I am setting out on a 5.0 mountaineer/explorer 5.0 swap and have gleaned a lot from you all. This project will take the better part of 6 months, gathering a donor car and parts over winter, building a 347 Stroker with forged everything and low comp pistons, sourcing a transmission that is compatible and can handle 700rwhp for the turbo upgrade down the line. Finally the install will happen somewhere around summer 2016, this truck will be CT legal and smogged. Future plans include long travel front susp with fox 2.5 coils, box the frame and cage the truck, air locking rear diff with 4.10 gears and discs, upgraded front discs, swapping out my 32"s for 37"s and custom prerunner bumpers etc. The goal with the build is to raptor the crap out of it. Basically if the factory ever offered a ranger in a prerunner option. The paint is already done, just need to focus on the important stuff now.
