found a reman. starter for $86. i was planning on rebuilding mine but my dd sprung an oil leak and i'm gonna be truckin the ranger for a while and need the starter. 86 bucks a good deal, or should i just try and rebuild my old one? thanks yall

if it comes with warranty you cant lose. :P

but if you really depend on it to work or you work far and cant afford to get stranded dont risk it.

Buy the reman and rebuild your old one as a spare. Although since it's a reman there will probably be a core charge. I would probably just buy the reman, it sounds like a pretty good deal. Reman starters at the NAPA where I work usually go for about $120-175, don't really remember but they're def over $100.

I would just order the brushes for the starter for like 10$ and rebuild it. We changed the brushes in my ranger in about 15 minutes.
