Hey my 4 ga. red power wire from the drivers side firewall down to the starter snapped in two right at the connection on the starter. I was thinking that I could just buy a single 4 ga. switch to starter cable and replace leaving the rest of the wiring mess alone. What length of cable should I buy? 49" work? I'm not at the truck at the moment so I cannot measure.

Thanks,
Dan

Ok, I bought and installed the 49" one, the 36" might have worked but would probably had been too short. Now I can't get the nut to thread back on the starter? It turns but won't tighten up. Anyone know what size thread it is so I can run a tap on it?
Thanks,

Try a washer, try a new nut that has been squashed. I'm pretty sure the thread is an 8mm coarse. If it isnt, it is a 5/16. Be careful, the stud is tender.
