starter problem

ok so ive got a problem i cant seam to fix but here it is my starter keeps chewing up my flywheel and im on my 3rd flywheel the first was because the trreads where f@#%ed up on my top bolt so i drilled threw and used a bolt with a nut but now its still grinding and dont know what to do ive heared i can change out the 9 tooth gear to a 10 tooth on my starter but not sure what to get it from i know its from an escort with a 1.9 but i got one from a 94 escort and it dont fit in my started its a differint bendex setup so im lost??????

did you ever replace the starter? or just flywheels? does it make a grinding noise after starting?

Marcus The stock starter is working for millions of others! So you have a problem for that particcular engine/starter matchup.
The ring gear and the bendex gear should be a positive match. The possible error is the WRONG starter or a BAD install.
I'm gonna guess that it is an install problem.
How long has the starter been installed? Have you recently checked for tightness? Is this one the ONLY starter that has fuxed up the ring gear? If YES than I'd be looking for another starter to see if I actually have the correct one..

well i fixed it the bolt i was using was smaller than the hole so i had to put a shim in it
