So I start up my truck go out for lunch. I come back out after eating hop in and go to start the truck, all I hear is the starter spinning, so i figure that its just not engaging. I crawl under to take a look amybe give it a smack and realize that it is falling off and barely hanging there. ALL the bolts fell out. It is a 2.9l v6 standard trans, has this ever happened to anyone? So I got a ride back to school and Ill go pick up some bolts after school and go fix it to bring it home because I aint payin for a tow. Does anyone know What size bolts I need and how many there are? I thought I saw only 2 holes.
Thanks
Sean

ask at the parts store for starter mount bolts

looked thru a chiltons and ford manuals just can't come up with size of bolts

Thanks for looking. I did find the right bolts, I ended up having to put a new starter in because i realized that only one bolt was missing, the starter broke off the other.
Thanks
Sean

make sure to keep an eye on the bolts had one disappear on my 89 causing the starter to go out replaced starter and missing bolt. 2 months later starter issue so i replaced the solinoid just to find out the bolt worked its way loose
