Starter issues

Anyone else have stater issues with the hot weather on a 2.3, I recently has to replace my starter die to a bolt faliure, however I had been using it for a year without fail. However this new starter, not rebuilt, has failed within a few weeks, intermittent no start when hot, than while trying to crank it over and tap the housing to start my truck it just let the smoke out, lucky it has a lifetime warranty but a giant p.i.t.a. good Ole push start never fails lol.

Unfortunately, many aftermarket parts are not factory tested. That keeps the price down. But you get to find all the defects and waste time returning bad parts. Hopefully. That's your problem. Make sure all cable connections are clean and tight - both positive and negative connections.

It's completely common to get bad starters, alternators, etc. Most of those parts are not new, they are remanufactured so it's literally just a roll of the dice to see if you get one that works, and if it does work it usually doesn't last all that long. The only way you are gonna get a known good quality part is to buy a NEW one from a major brand (for starters that would be Bosch) or get one straight from Ford (which means your still usually getting Bosch just with Motorcrafts name in it).
