Just got back from the dealership. I was informed that my starter damaged the flywheel and since the starter is not part of the powertrain it's not covered under my "powertrain" warranty. Also since the non-covered part damaged the covered part, nothing is covered... AWESOME... Any suggestions? I was quoted $1,100 for the flywheel/starter replacement. Does that sound right?:dunno:

by "nothing covered" do you mean the warranty is somehow void?

If so I suggest you shop online for affordable parts and convince a few mechanically inclined friends to assist with repairs.

very high prize, fellow I have five whole starter and flywheel to price. the dealership are eating pockets...go online and watch a kit not too expensive, it will do the work

I'm going to try to get my money back for my warranty, or get them to cover the flywheel and I cover starter. I could change the starter, but the flywheel seems a little beyond my ability.

Strange thing about this problem is, the grinding sound I hear on a cold startup goes away when it warms up and I startup.:dunno:
