ok i have a 86 ranger that someone stole at one point. the steering column where the switch went is broke up pretty bad. i want to put a push button switch in and do away with the column alltogether. i just dont know how to go about wireing it all back up ......help:icon_confused:

i did one but i still have to use the key and turn it forward. 4x4b2 has also done it. and he did it recently, so i'd ask him. i know its a simple two wires, one is power, and one goes to the starter soleniod.

on second note, do a quick search with my name, i think i wrote how i did it as well

I think I would drill a hole at a convenient location in the dash and install a generic starter keyed switch in the hole. Then I intercept the wires where they exit the column and make the new switch work zackly like it was the original one.
