Ok well the 2.8 is out, and I've gotten my motor back from the man. Its. 94 5.0 from an econoline van. Its been rebuilt .30 over, stock heads with a 5 angle valve job, he used top notch parts from summit, with percys, fel pro, and mr gasket gaskets. High volume oil pump, dual sump pan, comp cams timing chain and gear set, comp cam springs, not sure what valves, and a b303 cam, with some frpp rockers. Basically stock besides the cam. All the parts are top quality, such as the waterpump, alt, etc.

Ok here's what I'm wanting. A reliable setup, that can be a dd if wanted, take cross country trips with no worries, and be wheelable. The front drive is a serpentine from a 91 vic. Short waterpump for clearance reasons. I was gonna use a 4.0 rad, which I already have with elec fan. Will that be ok, I'm kinda leaning towards one of thos 302 swap ones and tucking it. Still with an elec fan. Also wanting to use a 4.2 97-03 m5odr2 trans. Rebuilt of course. That a good reliable trans to use? I do want od as well

Here's where I'm iffy. I'm thinkn of an aa adapter kit with a stock 1350. Is that a good choice or should I go with something else? It will be rebuilt. As well. Between this and the sas swap my money will be tied up for a while, so I wanna have a trouble free rig. Sorry for the long post, and. Any input is appreciated

The 4.0L rad will work, thats what I'm using. Just make sure whatever fan you use, to make a shroud to cover the rad. I need to make one, I'm fine with two 10" fans DDing, but when I wheel, I get a lil hot....The V8 swap rad's are way expensive....I found one from summit for around $145ish, all aluminum too...You may want to go that route...AA are expensive, but are also quality parts. The R2 trans is a reliable trans, and plenty of them around, so getting one should be easy and not expensive...
