Start with plugs/wires..

Plugs and wires are new, as is distributor

One idea is "jiggle" the plug-in on the coil and see if that causes the idle to bounce. Mine had a bad plug-in even though it looked fine. Could also be a slow or lazy IAC valve,might try cleaning that if you haven't already. I nearly went nuts trying to get my 2.9 to idle right....still after fixing a lot of problems sometimes it idles pretty good and other times it idles a tad rough.

Tomorrow I'm gonna go buy a new coil, and check the plugs to make sure there right

Where, in the RPM range, is it doing this?

Throughout. If I hold it steady in one place it does it. But let off and it goes away, or push on the gas more, it goes away

Still no fix. And it died, before it was warm all the way. And now rpms are dropping down to like 500, then back to around a 1000, and keeps going back and forth. But thats only when I'm at a dead stop.

fuel filter? fuel pressure?

Ummm idk how new the filter is. How do I check fuel press?

change this, if it's long enough that you have not done is really cheap

Quick question, any possibility it's my TPS??

my brothers truck had the same problem but it was a chevy. we went through every singe sensor and looked through all wires. including ecu, and fuel pump. and like 2500 dollars later we found out it was the injecters. so if nothing else i would try the injecters.

Ok so it's finally pay day, and I get some stuff done on the truck now. I'm gonna go buy a code checker, figure it's prolly a good idea since I'll more than likely end up using it more than once. So my purchase plan is... Any other ideas?
