Is the noise speed dependant? like getting faster as you accelerate and slowing down with you?

no,its as soon as u move,or turn,hit a bump.sound like a body or suspention ,[excuse spelling]..not sure

I had a 2000 xlt 4x4 and it made alot of noise when turning hard or going over speedbumps or pot holes. I replaced the shocks and it took care of it.

I would describe the noise as squeeking/crunching

It could be body or suspension parts that are rubbing...could even be a gas tank strap for that matter...and it may take a bit of trial and error to find it...but it could be something that given attention now might save you a bigger expense later...

You could start off by spraying the contact areas for the body mounts...if it don't go away after that you may need to get a few friends to "bounce" the truck while you poke around with a stethescope...not easy to find sometimes...

Happy hunting...

mine is just plain a## squeaky with any movement of trk.
:dunno:

Oh, and it could be inside your dash...I've got one right now that drives me bonkers when I listen for it...but I think it's the mouse in the heater blower...

yea, just went and bought a can of this silacone spray, gonna try that first, thanks guys, have a great day...

Yep, have had great results with silicone spray. I spray all rubber or metal rub points as well as the springs and bushings. Silicone doesn't appear to attract much dirt, either.

So your the guy I drive behind once in awhile with all that slippery crap dripping off the suspension parts on your truk??

LOL
