My 88 ranger has been squeaking alot lately. Particularly from the rear. Whats causing this? Its annoying as heck! Every speed bump it squeaks. I was wondering if it was just the suspension bushings being old and worn/dry rotted. Any help is much appreciated.

Thnx, Marty

I would just try to play the elimination game, check your shocks, and brakes. Pull the back tires off and look for any unusual wear. Pull the drums off and give that a look through. Just my 2 cents.

Squirt some WD-40 real hard right between the spring leafs. That has worked for me in the past, still does on my jetski trailer. Always begin with the cheapest alternative to solving a problem and work your way up.
Also it could have a broken leaf.

I think JohnnyO has it...happened to my truck as well. It is very annoying. Sometimes just washing it and spraying out the leaf springs works too.

Today I got an old oil can/gun thing and pumped some 10w40 wt. oil all over and in between the springs. It stopped squeaking! Thanx Guys!
