I noticed while pulling into the house tonight a noise coming from under the truck. It seems to be towards the middle of the truck under the cab, and only happens when the truck is moving under power (not while rolling with my foot pressing the clutch). The noise is not constant squeak, but as if something is out of balance; with a squeak, no squeak, squeak, no squeak... maybe 5 times a second when idling around and faster once the rpm's raise. It also seems to follow the rpm's rather than the speed.

I would automatically think the transmission... but I'm no mechanic. What do you think?

We had a bad sound like that on an old suburban we had, turned out to be a broken muffler hanger and the muffler was rubbing on the driveshaft. But it was only in reverse... weird

I'm beginning to think that it is the drive shaft carrier bearing.. I now have a noticeable vibration in the drive line.

I guess it's time for a one piece!
