i am thinking about making a square driveshaft for the front of the B2. which t-case would work best with a square shaft (1354/1350) i am wondering how much abuse the slip yoke on my 1350 with take with a square shaft up front. the only reason i am looking into this is because i am swapping in a d35 and dont want to spend the money to have a shop do the work.

i have heard of guys do it with success, but.... not for me thanks.

Really? it's not that much. 1 hr labour charge to shorten.

If you get a 1354 you wont have to shorten your if you use the 1354 shaft, you can also use an FM145 shaft with the 1350 or get yours shortened for $75.

i have always wondered that. i have an extra front shaft for an fm145, now i know i can use it.

If you are going to bother making a square shaft why not just make it with a tube. It's not anymore difficult. It's not that expensive to have a shaft modified by a shop either. Any yes you can use the shafts listed above as well.

It's not the T case it's the tranny. A FM145 is shorter than an FM146 thus a FM145 front shaft would be shorter than a FM146 shaft. But if you lift the truck 5-6" when you change over to the D35 the stock shaft will work. But only for a while because you will put bigger tires on and then be thinking doubler! RB
