Hello once again, I'm having some more issues again with my truck. For the record it's an 01 Mazda B3000 5spd.

Now to the issues;

First, the truck, while accelerating, will sputter/hesitate up to about 3000 RPM's. It idle's fine and starts up great. I feel as though it could be a vacuum leak, but I don't know where to look, or if that's even the culprit. As a result, my MPG's seem to have suffer.

Secondly, my AC will switch from front vents while idling and back to defrost upon acceleration. It switches back and forth in relation to starting off and stopping.

I bought the truck used, nothing mechanical on the truck seems to have been replaced from stock(engine wise). A visual inspection of the engine bay appears to be normal, nothing missing or unhooked.

I've been doing some searches here and haven't found anything that would seem to help, or the original poster didn't reply back with what fixed their issue.

I'm at a loss and need some sound advice from those who have experienced these same symptoms and know what repairs are needed.

Thanks,

big.

i would suspect a vacuum issue as the heater controls are vacuum controlled. check the area around the passanger firewall for loose/broken/disconnected vacuum lines. if none are found, have a look behind the glove box.

Absolutely @ what you say Wicked. But the stuttering is probably a sign that it's time for new plugs/wires or a MAF cleaning.

Thank you Mr.Sludge, when the temperature warms up a little, I'll look in those areas and the center console behind the AC controls.

For services rendered... six pack OK?

I agree MR.Fleck, the truck seems to have not had much maintenance, so it's probably time for new plugs/ wire/ and MAF cleaning.

Not to leave you out... here's a six pack also.

For further reference, I'm gonna complete each task separately and test drive the truck. I'll post back my results.

Also, I have two new Carsound Cats and a new muffler to install and while there, I'm gonna replace the O2 sensors.

Thanks,

big.

Well, I fixed the sputtering issue with the following parts. I had no choice, coolant was leaking from the timing chain cover.

- water pump
- timing chain
- tensioner pulley assembly
- idler pulley
- new belt
- spark plugs
- spark plug wires
- MAF cleaning
- oil change
- transmission fluid change
- differential fluid change
- (3) O2 sensors replaced

I hope I didn't leave anything out...haha.

One things for sure, I don't envy those who work on cars for living, that was brutal, but me and two other friends got it done.

Glad I got to the trans. fluid, it was black as night.

After some time to recoup, I'm gonna resolve the AC issue and install two new cats.
