I have a 94 Ranger 2wd and am pretty sure that I need a new coil spring on the drivers side front. I am just curious if I should replace both springs while I am at it and also if the springs from a 2001 will fit it. I saw a good deal on the springs out of an 01 2wd and if they will fit I will jump on them. Any help would be great, thanks Sam

Yes, replace both springs or the truck will lean to one side.

Also, if you want a stiffer ride, replace the springs with ones from a 4.0 model. They fit factory, but have a higher compression ratio.

I'm not so sure that an '01 will fit an '94 Two entirely different suspension setups.

Getting springs that are stiffer on one side than the other may case it to drive kinda wierd. if your one spring broke, chances are the other is on it's way out as well. Even though it's more of a pain in the ass, I'd do both, just have some blue wrench handy to heat things up and it should come apart fine.

I'd get 2 springs from the same vehicle, any 84-97 should work, 2wd and 4wd models. Bigger the engine and cab, the stiffer the rate, though depending on miles, just as worn out.
