Hello to all.

Well I finally picked up a rear from a 99 explorer for $100 and am planning to swap it into my 88 Bronco II so from what Iv'e read I got a good deal. I want to put the spring perches on the other side to run SOA but the only place I could find to have the 3.25x3.00 spring pads was Ballistic and 31.99 seems awful high to me. Does anybody have a lead on a cheaper set? Also to those of you who bought 3.00 tube dia perches and ground them down how does this pan out?

Thanks welder0800

I've always just made my own. Cost like $5. All you need is .25" wall square tubing.

yeah those ruffstuff kits are way expensive..either make your own or if you carefully cut the original ones off you can just reweld them on the correct side. (did this on my buddies explorer and it works fine and is free)

Yeah I reused the OE perches on mine too. It's not difficult to cut them off using a thin disc on your grinder.

Fyi:

I bought mine at Northern Tool in their trailer section, like $5 each, just had to grindem a lil' at the ends to set totally on my 2000 Explorer 8.8 axle tubes.

Ended up buying a pair off ebay for like $20 so yea beats Ballistic's price tag of $32.:headbang:

That's cool you found a deal. What did you end up doing for the shock mounts?

My local welding supply guy found a hunk of square tubing scrap = FREE :yahoo:
