The man who owned this truck before me did some type of glass work, and he used the truck to haul large pieces of glass. Needless to say, without a bed liner the bed was scratched up very badly and was starting to rust quite a bit. I bought the truck almost a year ago and finally decided to get it done before winter. I spent 6 hours sanding the bed Saturday, then I painted it on Sunday (yesterday).

It turned out a lot better than I had expected. I really only did it to keep the bed from rusting, because everything that I haul in the truck has wheels so it doesn't scratch up the bed very much, but I think it could stand up to some abuse.

Not too bad for being the cheapest stuff at the auto parts store, it only cost $50 to do the whole thing. The pictures were taken right after I sprayed it so it looks a little uneven, but after it dried the color smoothed out.

that looks pretty good. what kind was it?

It was this stuff, in the aerosol can. It was $8 per can at a local auto parts store.

I was gonna say....that's some THIN stuff! Won't last too long in a bed that gets used, that's for sure...

Ive got that stuff on my bumpers and flares and it's worked great. Can't imagine it'd work out all too well in a bed... Looks good though.

I did plenty of heavy coats but like I said, it doesn't see a lot of heavy use, It's mainly for stopping the rust.

I also realize that the truck is very dusty, but I wanted to make sure that the liner dried completely before I gave it a wash. And I love the sticker. It makes my day when a person in a jeep stops right behind me at a light. The look on their face is priceless:icon_rofl:

I used that same stuff on my bed. My bed obviously won't get used for hauling anything. The bed liner was just for looks. I have found that the edges that are subjected to the road dirt/rocks have started to peel. I sanded the crap out of the bed prior to painting it too.

I plan on welding in some wheel tubs. That should prevent the road sand/dirt from sandblasting the bedliner off. I like how easy this stuff is to touch up.

ive used it on body panels of several of my vehicles...holds up pretty good

Got any ideas on how to remove concrete other than a grinding wheel? I want to do this but the previous owner got concrete in the bed.

this stiff is nice for a bed that doesnt get used but i wouldnt recomend this stuff for a bed that is used. i helped my buddy do his s10 and we sanded the shit out of the bed and prepped it well. spend the next day laying down the liner and a week later after hauling hay it was peeling up. im not trying to bash your work and anything like that. but i would suggest getting 2 gallons of herculiner and rolling all 2 gallons on it will make a nice thick coating and will last much longer
