Ok I have a Question for y'all, I have never seen this problem and have built many Trucks and Cars.
When I fill My Ranger(2002 Xlt Supercab 4.0 4x4) it will Idle fine but as soon as I leave pump it Jerks and Shudders, then for about a mile is fine then one more Jerk and shudder, then fine until next fill up. Ideas?

are you topping off the tank/ if you are, you are more than likely filling the charcoal cannister with raw gas, and until it purges out it will run like crap. charcoal canister is right above the spare tire for your truck, so the gas doesn't have far to go.

Next fill up, when the gas nozzle clicks off, don't put any more gas in and see what happens.

^^^^ This ^^^^

Many people try to put every last drop into their tanks (I do this trying to round out the amount of $$$ they extort from me in my efforts to help kill the planet) and the vent tube "might be" getting backwash or flooding into the charcoal canister lines that eventually work their way into the vacuum system of the intake...

It could also be a possible leak in the filler neck that is allowing fuel to spill onto the wiring and causes a temporary short...but you'd smell fuel and probably get a CEL for the EVAP system not functioning because of the leak...

Thanks for feedback, today I filled Up but was only at 1/4 Tank. No Spitting and Shudder at all. I may have to look at Charcoal canister this weekend. Or Possibly kinked vent line.
And Yes I am guilty of Topping off all the way.
