i hate junk yard plastic bumpers, they always come with damage and if its a textured bumper you can't repair dings easily,or the shop is lazy they won't do the extra work.junkyard sheetmatal is preferable to chinese aftermarket crap though if its not all dented up.aftermarket plastic bumpers aren't good though. it can be hard to get the mold release off of cheap plastic so the paint will adhere well.factory replacement stuff is almost always the best.if possible thats what i'de insist on.the sad part is that somewhere in the proccess the best possible repair is lost in the cracks of beauracracy and time restaints(like a bodyshop not having time to send back a dimpled bumper and hoping 85 won't notice it when he picks it up).things go much better if the right parts show up the FIRST timeIf they use junkyard or "Recyled" parts give it the fifth degree when you pick it up to make sure everything is right. My "Recycled" bumper that I got when I hit my deer has little dimples in it that it took me a week to notice. I found an aftermarket bumper for the same price as the used one on my receipt, that is what irks me the most.

yea, well from what i read in my estimate im getting all new suspension parts, and junkyard bumper, wheel, and fender.... but it'll be 2 weeks b4 i can pretty much even look at my truck... owell im still gonna get rid of it, my insurance told me i should be able to get a depreation*spelling* of value check so screw trade it in, sell my 2 10" fiberglass speaker box for under the back seat and start fresh with something else
