'95 Ranger, 3.0L: When replacing the broken worm gear on the odometer motor, which is apparently a common problem, the SPIRAL GOES UP, COG DOES DOWN. That's how it works. Worm gear also fits Mustangs.
Now if I could only figure out how to get the speedometer to work correctly, I would be so happy you would swear I was driving a 2015 Ranger.

PS: My reference to "Grog" comes from my favorite "Far Side" cartoon. It's the one where the group of cavemen are cooking meat by holding it directly over the fire, grimacing in pain, when one of them exclaims "Look Grog do" as he observes Grog cooking over his fire with his meat impaled on a stick.
