so i went to replace my inner bearings because they were shot. i go to the store and the guy gets the bearings that were right. but the seals are way too big. the seals on my spindles right now sit right on top of the bearings in the center hole. the other one looked like it might fit inside the lip of the backside of the spindle. is this the right part and they just moved the location of it... i've never seen a seal that wasnt touching the bearing
also they wanted like 25 bucks for each one. i only got the bearings for now. i'll go back later once all of the new people have gone home

Sounds to me like they tried to sell you the ones that are pressed onto the end of the axle and ride against the back of the spindle. You are right, there should also be the small one that goes in the spindle on top of the bearing. Definitely sounds like you need to talk to someone else. See if their parts system has a picture of all of the spindle parts and point the damn thing out to them.

you don't know how many times i've had to do this with the new employees. they have no idea what they are doing.

but yeah. i figured there was supposed to be one and went online and looked it up and saw that there was and there were separate seals for that lip i believe

I work in a dealership with parts guys that have been here 20 plus years and still have to point stuff out to them sometimes because I just know they're gonna screw it up. Sometimes you just gotta do it yourself if you want the right stuff.

check out rockauto.com, cheaper parts prices and usually has pics and dimensions of the part. I use that coupled with the motorcraft parts site with the image parts breakdowns and #'s and you should be golden
