i just purchased a 95 splash 5 speed 4.0 and the speedometer does not work i need help i don't know what it could be. i have the receipts for the new speed sensor and was installed by dealer and dealer checked the wiring and said it was ok so is the gauge cluster dead?

I'd be willing to bet that its the small gear in the instrument cluster that is bad. Had the same thing happen to my '95. Pulled the instrument cluster and pulled that bad gear, replaced it with one I got from a junk yard.

i found the problem. i was driving up to my buddies step fathers garge today "he has a lift i dont" and the check engine light came back on and it was a vehicle speed sensor code so i looked at it and the plug in is broke off the speed sensor im going to change it soon.
