hello i have a 2002 ranger fx4. it had 31x10.5r15 bfg all terrains until i popped a tire and was forced to put on 20 inch van tires on it (huge difference).. long story short in the few weeks it took me to save for new tires my speedometer and odometer stopped working (but everything else on the dash remains fine), my wipers and fluid dispenser stopped working. and it started to suk alot of gas (more than usual) ... at first with the 20 inch tires it was awesome on gas and now its horrible ( a normal 20$ drive became a 60$ drive .... thats 40$ gas wasted from a problem somewhere in the truck .) the truck is shifting harder than usual too ???? the passenger airbag light stopped working also i dont know if the airbag(s) will still deploy but that doesnt worry me. also the windows roll down but on the drivers winder the automatic roll down thinger doesnt work so i have to hold it down until its all the way rather than just tap the button. if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated. this truck only has 79 500 km on it still a baby and i love it!!!

Must be an automatic transmission.

Get an new VSS sensor, the one that drives your speedometer.
It's on the transmission.

"

Starting in 2001, the Ranger gets its raw speed signal from the OSS (Output Shaft Speed) sensor on the transmission/transfer case. The OSS sensor is a magnetic pickup that provides transmission output shaft rotation speed information to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) where it is corrected for tire diameter and axle ratio.

The PCM uses the OSS sensor signal to help determine EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) pressure, shift scheduling and TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) operation. The PCM outputs the corrected VSS pulse to the speed control and the cluster. In this system the PCM is the correction and distribution point for the VSS signal."

It's always a good idea to clean up your grounds when a few electrical gremlins occur at once. Under the hood, inner fenders and radiator support have grounds.
