so last night, i left all my windows open and it rained. when i pulled my truck into the garage this morning, the speedometer was flying back and forth up to 55 mph. what could the problem be, i dont really know much about electrical stuff but i was thinking a fuse.

Lordy, that's a gear-driven cable speedo.

Sounds like the cable is catching on its sheath, winding up and releasing, making the speedo bounce around.

Might pull the end out of the trans and inspect the gear, give it a few spins, but it sounds like a bad cable to me. You should be able to feel a problem when you spin the gear. Should be smooth.

yeah. thats what my dad and boss said. i thought it could have been a fuse that got wet but realized it has nothing to do with electrical stuff.
