I am lost with the frankin truck here. I went from stock size tires to 33s currently, pushing to 35s once it is back on the road. With that said I went from 3.73 gear to a 3.55 gear and the stock 5 sp trans to a Ford Zf5-42. I have done some searching and have not been able to find much info on the speed gears or if I just have to order a bunch of different size cable gears and trial and error it?! Other option I was looking at was digital gauge, but there again most dont come with sensors or the ones that do are ridiculously over priced IMO.

So you are looking to make the speedo correct with 3.55 gears and 35 inch tires, right?

That might be a problem. The numbers say you either need a 10 or 12 tooth driven gear, depending on the drive gear in the trans.

White needs 10, black needs 12.

Thanks, Im not sure what is in the trans since I have yet to pick it up. Should be making the voyage on Saturday so ill take a look as soon as the guy pulls it.

Yeah, the issue that I think you are going to have is finding the gear you need. I don't think I've ever seen one with less than 16 teeth.

Which means I need to replace the gear inside the Trans or Tcase which ever it may be in the 4x4 version? Are there any decently priced digital speedos out there with an odometer feature? Most of the ones I have come across are in the $250 ^ range and some dont even have a sensor.

This because digital speedometers still run off of a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which still gets its signal from the factory gears (inside tailhousing in older vehicles) or a tone ring/sensor (in axle or differential on newer vehicles).

The signals (pulses) that each different kind (and make/model) of sensor puts out will also vary by vehicle manufacturer.

Your '94 has a speed sensor, but it also still has a fully mechanical speedometer cable. I recommend keeping the cable. If you need a new one (you can tell by excessive shake in the needle at different speeds, and if it simply sticks at one speed) then you can buy a new one for a HELL of a lot less money than electric speedometer.
