My 1994 Ranger lost its speedometer, spun around past max and stuck there, wasn't driving more than 60mph well 100kph Canadian cluster
Odometer/trip still work so cable and gear are OK

My gas gauge has also been acting up so I guess its time to pull the cluster, and see whats what
I am sure its the anti-slosh module since its not dead yet just goes to empty or full and then shows actual correct level for awhile

Finding 1993/1994 cluster in kilometers will be harder
Can always put in one with MPH as last resort, lol

You can add in part of '92 if it helps any... heck the speedo itself is the same from '89 through '94 although the printed circuit on the back is different... not sure that helps... There's a non tach '90 cluster at my moms in mph if you get really desperate, you're welcome to it for shipping... even if you just wanted the speedo section out of the cluster...

'Time to see what's what'

Pfft. Quit being modest. You KNOW what's wrong Ron 🤦‍♀️

I am 90% sure that the pinouts on the plugs changed from 92' to '93. You can still use the older one, you will just have to do a little rewiring.

I'm 100% sure the wiring changed in mid '92 but the speedo section of the cluster has no wires going to it and is the same from '89-94, they're stupid simple to pull out of the center of the cluster once it's out... the reason I have that cluster is I switched to a tach cluster in like '02 so that's the original early '90 cluster with the junkyard speedo in it...

Well, hadn't driven the truck for a few days
Speedo was still spun around and not working as I headed for the highway
Was on the highway and looked down, its working again
Was a little jumpy and reading higher than it should, then after about 5 miles it settled down and was working just fine again
Drove about 70miles today with a few stops and it has stayed working, at lower speeds and highway speed, no more jumping like at first

Gas gauge is still wonky, but speedometer is back
Odometer is correct mileage for distance today so still don't think its a cable or gear issue

I never trust anything that fixes itself. The speedometer in my 93 acted up after I first got it on the road, at about 30 mph it seemed pretty accurate but I could pass traffic on the interstate when it read 45. I got a used cluster for $20, reset the mileage to match the truck and stuck it in. I hated to replace the original 6 digit speedo with a 5 digit one but thought I ought to know how fast I was going.

I have twice now found my speedo to twitch at roughly 50-70mph. Lubed cable and it smooths out for another year.
