My speedo reads about 5-10 mph fast. I have a 302 Aod tranny with 410 gears.
I am in the process of changing the trans and was wondering if i went to a 19 tooth instead of the 18 thats in it, will it make much difference. The tires are 235/70/15s if that makes a difference. Thanks for any info.

It took some trial and error to find the right speedo gear for me. I went through two different gears to find the correct one i think. Luckily they are cheap and easy to replace. Just swap in a gear and use a gps to see how accurate it is

What color is the drive gear? (the one that drives the gear on the cable)

I'll try and get a gps and see how far it's actually off.

I didn't think to look in there today when i put the cable in.

It put in a 23 tooth gear and it seems to be a lot more accurate. I'm waiting on my brother to bring over his GPS to check it out.
