i looked at the gear chart and the gear in mine is black so, 21 teeth. well my truck has stock rear but my speedo is slow. says i'm running 47mph when actually going 60 ish. so my question is do i need a higher tooth gear(21+teeth) or lower tooth gear? or do you guys think my speedometer gage is bad?

Yea that can get you into trouble you can try putting in a smaller gear I believe you can get a set of gears on ebay for cheap so you can try different ones until you get it right if the speedo is not jumping and moves smooth up and down it is probably the gear I am guessing the rear end has been geared up so you need to put a smaller gear in the tranny.

This is what you need if it works or just search ebay for for speedometer gears most of these guys have the gears for your tranny

You didnt specify your tranny this is just an example do a search or maybe you can get a set at the part store for cheap

If you have a 94, your speedo cable might be binding up. Does it wobble at lower speeds? Say, 0-35 mph?
