Where the heck did they mount the speed sensor in the 88 b2 2.9?:dntknw:

On the transfer case. It's part of the speedo cable peice with the little plastic drive gear on it. Two wire connector....only there if you have cruise control.
 
Ok. I see the speedo cable and the 2 wire connector and the wire. Strangely though, the truck does not have cruise. I also have a 2 wire connector on the rear diff. Is that a second speed sensor and if so, which one tells the tranny to shift into overdrive? (BTW...Thanks for locating it for me:icon_thumby: )
 
No, the sensor in a diff housing is the ABS sensor.
 
if its a A4ld and it wont shift into overdrive it could be any number of problems, check the sensor first, it is the one on the end of the t-case, other then that theres lots of other issues with the said trans....
