speed sensor

Where the heck did they mount the speed sensor in the 88 b2 2.9?
On the transfer case. It's part of the speedo cable peice with the little plastic drive gear on it. Two wire connector....only there if you have cruise control.

Ok. I see the speedo cable and the 2 wire connector and the wire. Strangely though, the truck does not have cruise. I also have a 2 wire connector on the rear diff. Is that a second speed sensor and if so, which one tells the tranny to shift into overdrive? (BTW...Thanks for locating it for me
)

No, the sensor in a diff housing is the ABS sensor.

if its a A4ld and it wont shift into overdrive it could be any number of problems, check the sensor first, it is the one on the end of the t-case, other then that theres lots of other issues with the said trans....
