speed sensor for 84ld tranny

does anybody know where the speed sensor is located on a 84ld trannsmission in a 1989 4x4 ranger. what does it mean when u go to get it and the computer at the parts store says ranger with cruise control w/o speed control

I believe its in the output shaft tail housing of the transfer case.
