sparking coming from side of spark plug boot

Today I was hearing some sort of random ticking noise comeing from the engine then I noticed arcing coming from the side of the spark plug boot, why? I just installed new wires last year what is the reason for this arcing? I'm sure thats not great for mileage

I pulled off the wire off the sparkplug and sure enough the crimp was detached from the wire so that would explain the arcing as the connection was broken.

I think this is now my 3rd wire busted from my original champion set. The crimp on these champion wires seem to come out like nothing, the only way to prevent this from happening the 4th time is not to touch them, the crappy thing about to is you can't pull off the boot to repair them like others. I wish I could see the difference of the crimp design on bosch wires I would bet they are better designed

I put a set of bosch on my wifes car, messed with the radio, and ruined the gas milage, went to the GM dealer, replaced them with GM ones, runs like a top now.

Had a set of AutoZone on my ranger, and replaced them with a set from Ford, made a world of differance, get a set from Ford, cost a little more, but worth it.

I also get my plugs from Ford and GM also, In my humble opintion, nothing beats factory when it comes to plugs and wires.
