I went to pull out the 3rd passenger side spark plug, ya, the one that's near impossible to get to even with swivels, managed to bust the ceramic off. Now what, how am I gonna get that out? Am I screwed, will I have to pull that head off or is there a way to get it out without taking it to the mechanic?

Is this the same hole that got stripped?

If you stripped the center hole and busted this one I'd just go look for a new (to you) head. If it's one hole I'd drill it and heli-coil.

If you pull the wheel and all the splash guards that hole becomes a bit more accessible, not out in the open, but its a bit easier to get at IMO.

I haven't tried pulling the splashguards yet. Maybe I can do it that way. I got the second plug out, but that third one is a PITA. Yes, its the one with the stripped threads on the head itself.
I don't want to replace the head....that's too much work and too expensive lol. So is the helicoil. BUT, if I cant get the plug out, I might have to.

I'm not trying to insult you or anything, but I'm very confused about how the threads can be stripped out, but the plug it stuck in the hole.

The spark plug vibrated out of the threads....originally. Took it to the stupid ford dealer here, they took a look at the head and said the threads were stripped. The plug had stripped them as it had vibrated out of the hole it was sitting in. I was taking it out to put a new one in with some nice gooey anti-seize, when it broke.

Got it out with the help of a neighbor. Put all new plugs in, with anti-seize. Gonna need new wires I think. The ones I had bought suck, that's Autozone's wires for ya.

I was going to say, that you can pull the pass. tire off, you don't need to pull the splash pans off, there is enough room to reach in and get to the plug, the two bolts on the top of the tranny, the tow bolts on the pass tranny, the tranny lines, and a few other stuff.

I like to pop the splash guards out because I have big hands. Gives me just a tad bit more space to not get caught on the edges.

Glad to hear you got the plug out and that the head isn't buggered up too bad.

I'd try to get OEM wires. I know I know, dealership is a dirty word around here, but I put 3 sets of aftermarket wires on my truck in as many years, my current set of OEMs is 2.5 years old and going strong.
