im doing the plug and wires but im confuzed as frick about the gap!!

i have heard all these as the "right" gap: 0.044, 0.054, 0.060

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok...so the sticker says : 0.042-0.046

what do i split the differance??

Go for the .042. The closer to the low end the better because as the plugs wear the gap will open up a bit.

If you pull them out because you have a miss and you check it and it's over .046 then you just know you have a problem.

could you explain the red part more im off today brains not all with it.

Just make sure they are all the same between 42 and 46 and it is also good to put dielectric grease on the wire ends also. 44 is a good happy medium. I think what the guy above was talking about if a plug burns more than the others it usually means a lean condition on that cylinder you can run some good injector cleaner for a couple of tanks to help them to burn even.

The range in the spec is to give a desired starting point and a maximum acceptable gap. So say you set them to .045 and two years from now (2/3 of their life) your engine starts running roughly. You pull the plugs out to check them and you check the gap. They are now gapped at say .048. Now you know that the gap has become too large and you need to adjust it before you can continue checking for other issues causing it to run rough.
