Any tips on how to get my spare tire off from underneath the truck to store it in the back for easier use when needed. Its an 03 Ranger and I have not been able to get the fastener to move at all. It looks like a coil/spring in the middle with a spinning fastener in the middle. Thanks for any advice.

I couldnt tell ya, mine sat in a tray type thing, loosen the bolt in hte middle and wiggle it out.

Look at where the jack is. There should be 4 sections of square tubing laying next to it. Use the sections of tube and the lug wrench to assemble the crank handle. Insert crank handle into the hole underneath the tailgate and start cranking. The spare tire will lower down, suspended by a steel cable.

That did the trick sir, thanks for the video.

i can't figure my 88 out, i can unbolt the holder so it swings down but i cant get the eyebolt to budge, it has a nut under it but i can't get a socket to fit inside the squareish tubing... its weird

Get a deep socket and an extension. It's a pain.

i don't know if the size i need will fit in the little hole/slot, the size that was a bit small almost didn't fit, but i shall try eventually i need to get it down and inspect it for either damage or just a flat.
