Okay i have no clue what is happen to my 94 4.0 (4x4). yesterdfay i drove it fine home from school (9 miles) and everything was good. then, when i went to start it up 15 minutes later it had a very rough and choppy idle. I thought it was an exhaust leak where the y-pipe meets the rest of the ehxaust. i put a new gasket in and made sure it wasnt leaking and it solved the problem for the nexst five minutes. Then the ranger refused to start. It has done this problem before where it turns over and everything but the fuel pump wont kick on. The only way i found to solve that problem in to just swap the relays around and then she will run(it has done this problem many times before) But now the truck still runs like crap and the check engine light is on. I have gone over the whole exhaust and there are no leaks anywhere. the truck will actually die if you push in the clutch going down the road and dont keep reving it up. All my other gauges seam to be reading fine and working properly. Also the truck smells gassy like it is running very rich and you can see the white smoke come from the echaust. Any idea on what it could be?
