I recently bought a 96 ford ranger and l had to put a radio in it and naturally someone had cut the plug out of it and I had to but splice one in. I put the same colors together that went with each other and the radio comes on and works but no sound comes out of any of the speakers. No static or nothing. And yes I made sure the speakers are hooked up and work and I also tried a different radio. I am working with stock speakers and radios.

Make sure your speakers/wiring are good - you can use a C or D cell battery to check. Hold one speaker lead on one end of the C or D battery, and brush the other wire against the other end of the battery - you should hear a quiet but clear "static" noise coming out of that speaker. No noise? Bad wiring or speaker.

Good luck

What did you splice back in? The same one that was cut out? Can you snap a picture? I'm a MECP Installer, shouldn't be bad to figure out

All you need is an AA battery. That's what we all build our speaker poppers with. You'll hear the cone clicking up and down. A "popping"
