Hey all just joined the R-station to get a little insight on my soon to be '94 Ranger acquisition. This is the Ranger my dad bought new in 1994 and the truck I learned to drive a 5spd with. That little 2.3L I4 sure didn't make it easy, but it was a great truck that I had a lot of memories with in high school and college.
Dad is giving it to me as a gift and I think it will make a great project for my 13yo son and I to build up a little. It should make a great car gift to him when he turns 16 I would think.
Anyway, the truck is in decent enough condition and the original motor has something like 375,000 miles on it or so. I've been looking at doing the 4.0L SOHC V6 swap with manual transmission. I have never done an engine or transmission swap so I'll need to do some serious research - which is why I'm here!
