So I have some general issue question that covers more than 1 topic; I'd like to ask all in one post; but if I need to post to each heading I will.
99 3.0FFV
After filling my AC with a recharge/conversion/oil kit, some mornings right after starting I get a little groan/squeal from up front (I'm assuming the compressor). Best way to describe is a cross between the infamous Ford powersteering growl & the squeak you can get when you 'creap' the breaks at a light.
Did I overfill, even tho it's in the right range, or something else?
Possibly related, when I turn the knob to Max AC, it starts blowing harder for a few seconds (I assume changing from outside to recirc), but then redirects to the defrosters.
Related, or is it a switch issues, or ???
My fuel gauge seems to be over reading more frequently lately. I started noticing a few months ago I'd park with say 1/2 tank, then next morning I'd have nearly Full reading; but in a few miles back to normal. Lately is seems to stay fuller longer.
Right now I've gone ~200 and still have over 3/4 tank. I'm guessing weather/temps might be a factor. I did change the fuel filter when I bought it 7 months ago. Other ideas?
My Theft light has stayed on about 3 times in the last 2 months after starting. The first times I turned off, and back on & it was normal. This last time I was curious and continued my morning drive. It stayed on for about 1/4 mile, then started blinking slower than the normal flash. After about a mile or so it stayed out.
Anything to be concerned about?
I had keys made/programmed at the dealer when purchased also, so I don't know if it will start with an un-programmed key.
Completely unrelated, my kids school needs to light up the inside of a semi-trailer; bright enough to load/unload in the dark. Is there something to run off what ever the truck provides, and/or with a generator (dual purpose/voltage lighting?)
Thanks for any/all suggestions/advise!
