STX. Im trying to lift my 88 ranger but it has the STX package. The web sites that I visit state stuff such as "Vehicles equipped with factory STX package will not achieve stated height". Now I have read many different things about STXs and am not sure what to believe. Now if I got a 6 inch lift and I have the STX how much lift am I expected to get?

You should get 4" over what you have now if you get a 6" lift. The STX has brackets so it has sort of a 2" factory lift.

not all of them. not all stx trucks got the highrider package. check out this link to see if you have the highrider

It's closer to a 1.5" factory lift, but yes, you have to subtract that amount of lift from the kit's stated height (you're removing the factory lift to replace it with the Skyjacker (or whatever brand you choose) lift).

Hope that helps

Ahh, ok that's right. I forgot about the Highrider part.

and if you have the HIGHRIDER brackets, when you take them off for your lift kit, you can make some money off of them from me.As Im in need of those brackets.

Ok thanks. I will read that and check it out. And When I lift it I will keep those brackets. Any Recommendations on a good lift. Im looking to get about 4 inches or so. I want to be able to fit 33's.

damn, beat me to it. good to see atleast somebody used that info. my last post on that thread shows a sure fire way to tell if you have a high rider or not (i don t know if they are bolted or riveted) and if you do have the high rider, a 4" lift will only lift the front about 2 1/2" but still lift the rear 4" high rider was basically a factory leveling kit that also had some improvements in the front driveshaft and sway bar and things like that

So if I have the highrider, and I want to lift it 4 inches, then I need a 4in lift for the back and a 5 1/2in for the front?

Is there anyone that has the highrider that can sum up how they did their lift for me?

if you want 4" of lift, just use a 4" kit, it wont lift the front quite as high (assuming you do have the high rider package) but it will look just like any other ranger with a 4" lift. if you want to pick the front end up just a hair more, you can do what 'Sunk' said and use a coil spacer or some washers.

see the thing is, trucks are higher in the back from factory anyways (in anticipation of a load back there) so people can lift the front just enough to 'level' the truck and its a noticeable improvement. all the high rider package was is basically a leveling kit. before you worry about it too much though, i would check for sure to know if you do or do not have the high rider package. in all probability, you dont. they are kinda scarce

So does a 4 inch suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift, with 33's sound good?

If u want a 4 inch lift adn have the high rider, couldnt u just do the 2 inch coil spacer/washer? THat on top of the 2 inch factory lift shoud give u 4 inches over a stock truck cheap. I clear 31s on 2 inches of lift, so 6 total should be good for 33s
