Been trying to find the cause of my foggy/filmy windows when I turned my heat on so I bought a new heater core and replaced it yesterday. Turns out that was the problem and...wow...that heater core sure is easy to replace!

Since I can finally see out the front winders, I decided to plow through the drifts with the BII instead of the Subaru this morning. It did amazingly well considering it's wearing "straight-tread" Futura tires from god-knows-where.

It's nice when something works out.

Now if I could just get the power steering pump to quit leaking...

mine leaks from everywhere. powersteering box every freakin seal, every seal on the pump

itll leak from the day u buy one, till the day it dies, no matter what u replace, what u fix....itll find a way, its just a ford marking its territory

It's leaking from wherever the bomb went off :)

But seriously, it seems to be leaking from the brand new low-pressure line I installed this summer. Line is in perfect condition.

Just an update: I'll not brag again! Just got back from Lewisburg and it stalled on me twice. Both times the front fuel pump was not running. Gas gauge doesn't work so I suspect the in-tank pump has died, leaving the pumping duty to the front pump. I figure the front one is overheating and stalling - starving the engine of fuel.

On my 92 ranger 2.3 the power steering pump was leaking from one of the flange nuts. I tried new o rings but ran into a problem, dont remember what it was.

This thread reminds me, I wanna do the B2 fuel tank conversion.

autozone sells a power steering pump kit for b2's for less than 10 bucks, now takin it apart and then getting it back in there, that's a PITA

Check the electrical connections on your frame mounted high pressure fuel pump. My 88 had this problem several times and turned out it just had a week connection at the pump. There are two wires on the pump that just slide on pins. After years of road grime, water splash, mud, and who knows what else the connections get bad. Yes the heater core replacement is a breeze on these things, wish they were like that on other cars ya know? Anyhow good luck with the BII and happy wheeling. They are really surprising what they can accomplish with only half way decent tires.

So was every window in you B2 fogged up?

Yes, every window was fogging up and I sometimes had the smell of coolant.

I replaced both fuel pumps, sending unit, and the rear filter. BIO now does not hesitate
though it still doesn't make great power. Timing is @ 12 degrees but I haven't had a
chance to try higher octane fuel. Computer may be pulling timing.

Wiring looked good and everything was buzzed out with a DMM. All connectors were packed with dielectric grease before reassembly.

As far as the PS pump: I tried some prestone PS fluid with a seal conditioner additive and it has slowed the leak somewhat.
